Getting Gussied Up
I’ve been friends with Erika and Mike since High School, and so when Erika asked me to photograph the “getting ready” portion of her wedding, I was excited to do it. Erika and Mike’s love story has been one of here and there- it began in High School, continued in college and then then onto their lives in San Francisco- a place that perfectly fits their personalities. So, photographing Erika as she prepared for one of the biggest days of her life was an honor. Not only did I get to be with her during that special time, but since she had another photographer for the wedding and reception, I got to enjoy myself as a guest for the rest of the evening. Of course I couldn’t resist snapping away all night, and I included some of those shots here as well. And the wedding was a blast! Yes, that is a team of break-dancers giving a performance half-way through the reception. It was an unforgettable night.
Gabrielson Family Portrait
A sweet little girl, wonderful parents, and a beautiful weekend afternoon on the grounds of UC Berkeley. What could be better?
Sunset Engagement Session
You could not meet a nicer couple. What a pleasure it was to photograph them! Mica and Christian are so full of spirit it was easy to capture the love in their relationship. We scheduled the session in order to catch the sunset on Carmel River Beach and were rewarded with plenty of gorgeous pinky-orange tones. We made the most of the softening light until the very last second! Thank you Mica and Christian, and congratulations!
Sweet Ellie
It was mid-September and fall was just beginning, but it looked like spring when I met with Connie her husband Brian, their daughter Ellie, and Connie’s twin sister Laura. We went to the botanical gardens at Tilden Park in Berkeley where there were lots of fun nooks and crannies to shoot, including the redwood grove that reminded Brian of his roots in the Northwest. They are such a beautiful family- and couldn’t Connie and Laura be models? Oh that’s right, they said they had dabbled in it together at one time. It’s easy to see why.
