Rachel & Elliot Engaged
Here are just a few images from a mini-engagement session I did with a very cool couple. I can’t wait to share some of their wedding soon! The story is that they have had an extended engagement period because when Elliot knew he wanted to marry Rachel he wasted no time in asking her (somewhere in India where Rachel had followed Elliot, by the way) without thinking about when they would actually get married. (Cue songbirds: How romantic!) They had each met their match and they knew it. Neither was going to let the other one get away. In the meantime they have been sharing their lives and building a strong foundation for a relationship that is sure to be full of many more adventures. How lovely when two great people become a great couple. I couldn’t be happier for them.
Cormac Makes Four
I had the pleasure of photographing the Wheeler family back when they were three. See previous posts here and also here. Now they’ve added adorable addition, Cormac, to the mix. We met in Palo Alto for a fun session that luckily the rain held out for. It is so fun that I get the chance to watch families grow, especially a gorgeous family like this!
Kande, Rob, Kieran, & Cora
I lost count of the number times we had to reschedule this photo session. It was at least 4 times, a record for me. Every time we picked a date- it rained. It rained and rained and rained. I was starting to think that our meeting was not meant to be. But, oh what a beautiful family I would have missed if we had given up. And they were definitely worth the wait.
Signe Roux, Two weeks & Five Days
We welcomed our little girl the day before Valentine’s Day. It was a beautiful, bright morning in so many ways. We named her Signe (Sig-nee), which is a Scandinavian name meaning “New Victory,” and Roux (Roo) which is French and means “Red-haired woman.” We are thankful most of all that she is, so far, healthy and robust. And it’s wonderful to have terrific friends in our community who love and embrace her as well. Thank you to all those who have brought us more delicious meals than we probably deserve. We are blessed many times over, and I feel genuinely humbled by the generosity of friends and family, and awed by the magic of nature to create such wonders as a new baby.
That said, who could possibly love this little girl more than her parents?
And that being said, how can my husband and I love another child as much as we love our son?
It’s a lovely little quandary.
