This great couple was married at the Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose. They have a lot of loving extended family, and friends, who put their effort toward the wedding by creating flower arrangements, cake, and doing the hair and makeup. It’s that kind of participation that really makes a wedding special. I was truly honored to take part.

Getting Gussied Up
I’ve been friends with Erika and Mike since High School, and so when Erika asked me to photograph the “getting ready” portion of her wedding, I was excited to do it. Erika and Mike’s love story has been one of here and there- it began in High School, continued in college and then then onto their lives in San Francisco- a place that perfectly fits their personalities. So, photographing Erika as she prepared for one of the biggest days of her life was an honor. Not only did I get to be with her during that special time, but since she had another photographer for the wedding and reception, I got to enjoy myself as a guest for the rest of the evening. Of course I couldn’t resist snapping away all night, and I included some of those shots here as well. And the wedding was a blast! Yes, that is a team of break-dancers giving a performance half-way through the reception. It was an unforgettable night.
